Stag and Hen Party Caps: From Group Chat to Finished Design

A cap can make the whole group easy to find. It can also be the thing everyone leaves in the hotel room as soon as the group photo is taken. The difference rarely comes down to how large “BRIDE” or “GROOM” is written. It comes down to whether the design feels like your group.

Here is a practical approach to planning caps for a stag or hen party: who gets what, how to choose the wording and cap style, and what needs to be decided before ordering.

Start with one question: who will wear a cap?

There are three reasonable approaches. Pick one before discussing fonts in the group chat.

  • Just the bride or groom: a personal cap with a nickname, date or inside joke.
  • The whole group: the same style and basic design, perhaps with different roles or names.
  • A smaller core group: for example, the people organising the weekend or meeting at a particular place.

Deciding the scope first makes everything else easier: quantities, budget, wording and who is responsible for the final check.

Decide whether the cap is just for the weekend

There is nothing wrong with an obvious event cap. Simply make that choice deliberately.

If you want to... Consider... Examples
Stand out on the day A shared role or event message BRIDE'S CREW, BEST MAN, HER WEEKEND
Wear the cap afterwards A group name or inside joke WEEKEND CLUB, SAME GANG AGAIN
Make the bride or groom stand out The same style with their own wording Their nickname or a significant date

Use these examples as starting points. Swap in words that only your group understands. If the text needs a long explanation to be funny, it is often too long for the cap itself.

Give the group a few shared design choices

Your caps do not need to be identical to look connected. Choose two or three things to keep the same:

  1. Cap style.
  2. Cap colour.
  3. Font style.
  4. Embroidery colour.
  5. Placement and text length.

For example, keep the style, colour and font consistent but give each person their own name. Or use the same wording for everyone and give the bride or groom a different embroidery colour. Check the personalisation tool for the options actually available on the product.

Which custom cap suits your group?

Dad cap for a clean, relaxed look

JACS custom dad cap for a stag or hen party
The dad cap has smooth fabric, a low profile and an adjustable strap.

The JACS custom dad cap is made from chino cotton twill with an unstructured six-panel construction and a low profile. The adjustable strap offers some flexibility, but fit does not feel the same to everyone. Ask the group to check the product information if fit is important.

Vintage cap for a more worn-in feel

The custom vintage cap is made from brushed washed cotton with a pre-curved peak. It suits a plan where you want the cap to feel more like an everyday favourite than a new piece of event kit.

Corduroy when the fabric is part of the theme

Corduroy adds texture to the group design, even with a short message.

The custom corduroy cap has a soft, unstructured crown and an adjustable buckle. The fabric is distinctive, so simple wording and a quiet colour combination can be enough.

Collect everyone's choices without the chaos

Put one person in charge of the order. Then send a short list that everyone answers in the same format:

Name: […]
Cap style: […]
Cap colour: […]
Text exactly as it should be embroidered: […]
Embroidery colour: […]

Copy the responses into a shared document or spreadsheet. The person placing the order should compare each row with the basket before completing the purchase. Do not assume someone “must have meant” a different spelling.

Make a separate final check

The custom products described here are made to order, and personalised items are excluded from the returns policy. Ask someone who did not build the basket to check:

  • the number of caps,
  • each person's exact wording,
  • cap style and colour,
  • font style and embroidery colour,
  • delivery address and contact details.

An extra check takes a few minutes. Finding an error after ordering is much more frustrating.

Plan around arrival, not the party date

Set an internal deadline for everyone's choices and work back from when the caps need to be with you, not when the stag or hen party starts. Read the current delivery information before ordering. We do not give one general delivery time here because terms and destinations can differ.

Have a fixed date, a larger order or a particular request? Contact JACS with the quantity, cap style, delivery location and required arrival date. Wait for a confirmed assessment before building your plans around a particular delivery day.

Logos, illustrations and special requests

You can create text in the personalisation tool. For a logo, illustration or requests beyond the displayed choices, you need to discuss the possibilities separately.

Send the design, a simple placement sketch and an approximate quantity through the JACS contact page. Do not assume a production idea from the group chat can be made; get the approach confirmed first.

Checklist for the person placing the order

  • Decide who gets a cap.
  • Decide whether the design should work after the weekend.
  • Agree on the style, shared colours and font.
  • Collect each person's wording in a consistent format.
  • Check the current product options and terms.
  • Have a second person proofread the complete order.
  • Compare the delivery information with your required arrival date.
  • Contact JACS for a logo or a special request.

Questions about stag and hen party caps

Does everyone need the same text?

No. You can connect the group through the same cap, colour and font while varying the wording. Check every version carefully during personalisation.

Is the text printed?

The wording is embroidered on the JACS custom styles described here. Choose from the embroidery colours shown for the product.

Can we use our own logo?

Contact JACS with the design, preferred cap, approximate quantity and date. The possibilities and terms can then be discussed before ordering.

Which cap style should we choose?

Choose according to how the group actually dresses. A dad cap has a smoother, relaxed look, a vintage cap a washed feel, and corduroy a more distinctive texture. Start with the cap, then add the text.
