What is a dad hat?
A dad hat is a casual baseball-style cap, typically with a soft, unstructured crown, a curved brim and an adjustable strap at the back. Its low profile gives it a relaxed shape. The name describes a style of cap; you do not need to be a dad to wear one.
What makes a dad hat different?
The crown is the part that sits around your head. An unstructured crown has less reinforcement at the front, so it feels softer and follows the shape of your head more closely than a stiff, structured cap. The curved brim completes the familiar everyday look.

Classic, vintage or corduroy?
Fabric and finish can change the look without changing the basic idea of an easy everyday cap. Our three custom styles offer different starting points:
- Classic: the custom dad cap uses 100% chino cotton twill for a clean, familiar finish.
- Vintage: the custom vintage cap uses 100% brushed, washed cotton and has a pre-curved brim.
- Corduroy: the custom corduroy cap uses 100% cotton corduroy for a ribbed texture.
How should a dad hat fit?
Start with the measurements provided for the model you like. An adjustable strap lets you change the circumference, but crown depth and shape also affect how the cap sits. A low profile is a description of the shape, not a guarantee that one cap will fit everyone.
For styling, try a colour that appears elsewhere in your outfit or let the embroidery be the main detail. Jeans and a plain T-shirt are an easy starting point.
